This is a single-location practice, and it has been in this village for a long time. Everything happens here: your first exam, your records, every adjustment visit, your emergency repairs, and the day the braces come off. You will see the same two doctors and the same team throughout, which is not something every practice can say. This page covers the practical side of coming to see us, including where to park, what our hours actually are, which communities we serve, and how insurance works at this office.
We are on Meadow Road, in the third-floor suite of a professional building set back from the street. The nearest major intersection is Lake Cook Road and Waukegan Road. If you know Northbrook Court, you are already close, since the office sits a short distance off the same stretch of Lake Cook Road. Parking is on site and free, and there is no garage to navigate. Come in on the ground floor and take the elevator to Ste 300.
From the Edens Expressway (I-94): exit at Lake Cook Road and head west. From the Tri-State Tollway (I-294): exit at Lake Cook Road and head east. From central Northbrook: take Waukegan Road north to Lake Cook Road.

Saturday mornings matter more than they sound. Families in this area run on several different school calendars, and a Saturday appointment is often the only one that does not cost anybody a class period. If you have a repair that cannot wait, our emergency care page explains what to do and when to call.
Northbrook first, including Techny, the village neighborhood with its own post office and ZIP code, along with the neighborhoods around Glenbrook North High School, Village Green Park and the Northbrook Public Library. Dr. Evan Chwa attended Glenbrook North himself, so the school calendars around here are not an abstraction to this practice.
We also treat a steady number of families from the surrounding towns, and we have written a page for each one covering the drive, the local schools and what treatment looks like from there.
Appointments here run every six to eight weeks once treatment is underway, so a twelve-minute drive roughly eight times a year is a smaller commitment than most people assume when they start comparing offices by distance.
Dr. Kyint Chwa earned his DDS at Northwestern University Dental School and completed his specialty certificate in orthodontics and master’s degree there as well. Dr. Kyint Chwa has served as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the orthodontic departments at both Northwestern and the University of Illinois Chicago College of Dentistry.
Dr. Evan Chwa earned his DMD at the University of Illinois Chicago College of Dentistry and completed his specialty certificate in orthodontics and master’s degree in oral sciences there. Dr. Evan Chwa is a published co-author on clear aligner research, and he grew up in this area.
Your first consultation is complimentary, and no referral from a dentist is required.
We verify your dental insurance benefit before treatment begins, file your claims, and tell you in dollars what your plan will actually pay. Most treatments range from $3,500 to $8,000, depending on complexity. Whatever your figure turns out to be, you get it in writing, with the monthly payment already calculated, before you commit to anything.
Monthly plans are interest free and arranged in house, with no outside lender. We also accept FSA and HSA funds and major credit cards. Full detail is on our payment plans page, and our guide to braces costs explains what moves a case toward one end of the range or the other.
Everything is delivered at this office. Nothing is referred out except the surgical component of a jaw case, which we coordinate with an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. Our records and treatment planning use digital scanning rather than impression trays, described in more detail on our technology page.

Partly because we are here, and have been for a very long time. Plenty of our adult patients were treated in this practice as children and now bring their own children in.
Partly because we schedule around real life in this village. Northbrook is the speedskating capital of the world, the Sports Center rinks run youth programs from age three upward, and many of our younger patients are on ice or on a field several evenings a week. That affects treatment. We will tell you how to protect brackets during contact sports, when a mouthguard matters most, and how to time the start of treatment around a competitive season rather than in the middle of one.
And partly because you deal with the same two doctors from the first exam to the last visit.
Yes, free on-site parking directly at the building, with no garage or street meters involved. Take the elevator to Suite 300.

Yes. The same number, (847) 272-0600, accepts texts during business hours, which is often the easiest way to ask a quick question or confirm an appointment time.
Yes, throughout the village, including Techny and the areas served by Northbrook School Districts 27, 28, 30 and West Northfield 31. Families here run on several different academic calendars, and we schedule around them.
Regularly. Dr. Evan Chwa is a Glenbrook North graduate, and we work around sports seasons, exam weeks and early-release days for students at the local high schools.
The easiest way to find out whether we’re the right practice for your family is to visit. The consultation is complimentary, no referral is needed, and you will leave with a diagnosis, a recommendation and a written estimate. Call or text (847) 272-0600, or request an appointment online. We are at 1220 Meadow Rd, Ste 300, Northbrook, IL 60062.
